Describe what your organization does in two sentences. \u00a0<\/strong>As a premiere downtown hotel and meeting destination, the Louisville Marriott offers luxury guestrooms and suites as well as onsite restaurant and bar, full-service Starbucks and connectivity to the Kentucky International Convention Center.\u00a0 Recognized several times as a Four-Diamond award winning hotel, guests will experience the highest level of service while enjoying the hotel\u2019s amenities and true southern hospitality.<\/p>\n

Who do you serve? \u00a0<\/strong>Guests from around the world visit the Louisville Marriott Downtown regularly for leisure travel, a Bourbon Country experience and while attending events or conferences taking place within our 50,000+ square feet of event space or neighboring conference venues.<\/p>\n

One fact you may not know about my organization is\u2026\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0The opening of the Louisville Marriott Downtown in 2005 \u00a0helped to define Louisville\u2019s position in the convention & meetings industry and sparked a downtown revitalization.<\/p>\n

What sets your business apart from others in the way you attract and retain talent?\u00a0<\/strong>Team members are often surprised to learn the many avenues to a career in hospitality that can be offered to them. When joining our team, members can gain exposure to lesser-known areas of the hospitality business such as finance, \u00a0human resources and sales & event management.\u00a0 We will work with our talent to ensure they are getting the exposure to those desired areas of interest.\u00a0 Some positions even allow for team members to take part in rotational training, getting exposure to each disciple in our industry throughout their time with us.\u00a0 Additionally, our management company, White Lodging has properties throughout the country that talent may seek opportunities at, should relocation be of interest to them.<\/p>\n

What do you like about being an\u00a0investor\u00a0in Greater Louisville Inc.? \u00a0<\/strong>The opportunities to connect with area businesses and city leaders is an advantage that investors have with the organization.\u00a0 The GLI team and their stellar communication with members keeps us informed and knowledgeable on the city\u2019s business developments.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

How does your organization engage in the community?\u00a0<\/strong>The Louisville Marriot Downtown proudly supports Junior Achievement, Habitat for Humanity, The KY Humane Society, just to name a few local community partners. In addition, we recently partnered with the Louisville Hotel Association to organize relief efforts for our Eastern KY neighbors, sending two large trucks of supplies to the areas hit hardest by recent flooding.<\/p>\n
