LDC reform has been a long-term priority for GLI and a core focus of GLI\u2019s Prosper 2030 strategic plan.\u00a0 These small changes will have a big impact on the way businesses interact with the development process and will allow for more economic development opportunities and housing projects in our region.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/louisvilleky.primegov.com\/viewer\/preview?id=0&amp;type=8&amp;uid=76d466b0-06de-4c3c-adbc-e8964d580a75\" class=\"external\" target=\"_blank\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">O-202-25<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> adopts KRS 100.2111 which removes the requirement for legislative review for cases that pass the Planning Commission unanimously. This will speed up the approval process for cases that have no opposition on the commission and allow more discussion time in committee for contentious cases.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/louisvilleky.primegov.com\/viewer\/preview?id=0&amp;type=8&amp;uid=76d466b0-06de-4c3c-adbc-e8964d580a75\" class=\"external\" target=\"_blank\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">O-201-25<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> extends the timeline for completion on affordable housing projects from two years to five years to ensure that developers have an appropriate time to source financing. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Simple and efficient land development processes are crucial for successful economic development. To ensure that businesses looking to move to or expand their footprint in our region have the appropriate tools for success, we must create a system that is intuitive to the process of development. Louisville\u2019s Land Development Code has been a continued source of frustration for businesses and developers within and looking to invest in our community. These ordinances work to address the frustrations we have heard by recognizing issues within the system and tweaking them to better align with the needs of its users.
